trying to stay fit as a momma!!

hello you lovely person!! today's topic is something that is super important to me as a mother, as a wife, and a woman. because without it i am not the best i can possibly be!! wanna know what it is? i bet you can guess from the post title! ;)

EXERCISE!!! so a little background..... i started dancing at the age of i think 8 years old, and i fell in love. i was a cheerleader in junior high and then i moved on to a competition team at the dance studio i started dancing at. from there i taught dance for several years! you're fit when you're a dancer, did you know that? ;) and it's easy to stay in shape because you are doing what you love!!!!

when i stopped teaching dance i signed up for a gym membership, and although i DO really love to work out, i also really do love food and being lazy. oh and my sleep. and that is rare as a mom!

but you want to know something else? when you exercise and take care of your body it makes a world of a difference in your attitude, in your emotions. you have more energy!! it makes you HAPPIER!! i promise. and my husband you will tell you, when i am consistent in my fitness goals i am much cooler!

it's hard to stay motivated. everyone struggles with it. so here are a few things that help me stay motivated and on track with my fitness goals.

1. it's all in your head. if you tell yourself you are going to go to the gym, you will. if you tell yourself "maybe tomorrow" you're going to skip out on today. when you feel like you can't quite finish your reps, tell yourself you CAN! because the truth is, you can! it's your brain that is telling you that you can't. you'd be surprised at what your body can accomplish.

2. have a buddy. this buddy doesn't actually have to go with you. but having someone sending you motivational texts or phone calls will help you to STAY ON TRACK.

3. throw out all the junk food. if you can't see it, you wont want it. and it will be harder for you to give into that craving!

4. plan out your meals + plan your work outs.  when you are prepared, you stay on track. simple as that!!!

5. make sure you have a reason WHY! why are you doing this? do you want to lose weight? do you want to gain muscle and tone out? do you want to be healthier in general? what is your why?
