A Very Brave Birthday Party!

olive has been talking about her birthday for months now. she would tell everyone she met, everyone she saw, that she was having a merida birthday party on may 29! she was so so excited for her party and for everyone to be there.

i've learned from her first two birthday parties to just keep them simple, going over board is always too stressful and then i end up being too overwhelmed about how the party is flowing than how happy my kid is. so we just went with cupcakes and presents, and that was about it!

i totally procrastinated this year and didn't start planning until a week before! and actually didn't get any party supplies until the day before!! everything turned out perfect and olive was in heaven the whole day!

(i tried finding blue cotton candy for our "wisps" but could not find any ANYWHERE!! so we had green wisps instead. everything can't always be how you pictured it, right?)

she wore her merida dress for 4 days in a row. after spilling spaghetti on it, i told her it was time for it to go in the wash and somehow it hasn't been worn since! ;)

we love our sweet olive girl! she can be quite the handful, but she really is such a sweet, caring, loving, polite girl and we are soooooo unbelievably grateful she is ours forever!! and how can she be three years old already?! i know it's been said a million times before, but it's the truth, time goes by way too quickly!!

happy (third) birthday my olive!!!

  1. Totally agree on keeping things simple! Even though it's easy to go all out. This looks super cute!
